NWUML 06
The intention of NWUML is to bring together researchers and Ph.D. students in the field of software modelling, including model-based development methods and tools in general and UML-based modelling in particular. NWUML intends to be an open forum with ample of time set aside for panels and discussion. The workshop intends to function as a platform for establishing co-operative research projects between the participants in the region. NWUML’06 is organised June 12th – 14th by Agder University College in Grimstad, Norway.
The workshop programme will include:
• Presentation of research papers
• Workshop discussions
• Integration Contest
Topics
The aim of this workshop is to anticipate and influence future trends and to focus on issues that are important to workshop participants. Authors are therefore invited to submit papers on topics related to a general model driven engineering perspective and to the application of UML as a basic modelling language. The topics include, but are not limited to:
• Model-driven development: System and software engineering; analysis of models; model transformation; reuse approaches; tool support.
• Language Profiles: Domain specific language profiles; standardisation activities; modular language design; tool support.
• Others: Integration; code generation from models; reverse engineering into models; model synthesis.
Paper Submissions
Electronical submission of full papers (at most 15 pages) or short papers (4 - 6 pages are recommended) in PDF-format before April 3rd. Submissions should be written in English and should not be published previously. Papers should be formatted using the Springer LNCS style: http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html. For submission rules see conference webpage.
Ph.D students are encouraged to submit papers about their ongoing or planned research. All submitted papers will be reviewed by members of the programme committee.
Accepted papers must be presented at the workshop by one of the authors. All accepted papers will be published as a university technical report.
Important Dates
EXTENDED DEADLINES!
• Deadline for paper submission: April 18, 2006
• Notification of acceptance: May 8, 2006
• Camera-ready version due: May 29, 2006
The camera-ready version should be e-mailed to nwuml-06@hia.no.
• Workshop: June 12th-14th, 2006
Integration Contest
In order to get a better understanding about what the integration of different modelling tools implies, we invite interested researchers to sign up for our Integration Contest. We have set up prizes for the best solutions. The task is to integrate a modelling tool of your choice (e.g. Rational Rose, Coral) into the Eclipse EMF, either in theory or in practice. The contest will be composed of three subtasks that can be tackled individually:
1. Be able to read and handle Eclipse EMF models within your tool of choice.
2. Write models in tool of choice and let Eclipse EMF handle them.
3. Joint access to a model from both EMF and your tool of choice.
