We deal with the integration of languages, software, hardware, and methods in theory and applications. For the theory, we want to handle integration of languages with a semantic focus based on meta-models. The application is concerned with integration aspects of open software.
This means we will be leading competence partners for industry and students in

• semantic language integration
• open software
• heterogeneous environments

We will use this common research direction to connect and to joint the people of the group with the same goal.

Research

The main research area of OSYS is the semantic integration of services. Hence, the emphasis lies on the following topics:

• semantics (formal and ontology-based)
• integration (integrate languages and services)
• use of open source technology and software

Teaching

We will align our research with the teaching. Moreover, we will tune the contents of all the courses we are responsible for in order to have the maximal outcome.
We will take part in the initiative for creating a "European Master on Libre Software".
